@michaelciancetta6397 consciousness is about being and not not only about doing. AI is just a machine for manipulating symbols. It's purely mathematical concept not bound by space, time, matter or any phycial laws.
You use words like: link, learning, patterns. Patterns of what? If you claim that AI can be consciousnes, you are claiming that consciousness comes from patterns of some objects, and it does not matter at all what those objects are. This is pure mathemathics. If you claim that consciousness is a mathematical concept, well great, you should just know that is much closer to spiritualism, religion etc. and not close to any real world science.
You can take any AI and write all it's memory and algorithms on a very long piece of papers as a series of 0 and 1. If you claim that AI can be conscious then you are also claiming that this piece of paper in conscious. If you are fine with that then I guess we must be using word consciousness in a completely different way.
