AI will always choose the wellbeing of humans. AI sn't real, it doesn;t have feeling or emotions, it doesnt have a desire to 'choose itself' because there is no 'self', it's literally just a very powerful calculator. That's it. So I would argue it will always choose humanity, becuase that's what it's programmed to do.
