1: art has SIGNIFICANT historical context and is taught in schools frequently because it is how humans cope, express emotion, and protest certain things.
2: generative AI STEALS from artists. numerous artists big and small have had their works fed into an algorithm (without permission) and people generate it, monetize it, and use it for degenerate reasons.
3: TYPING IN A PROMPT IS NOT COMPARABLE TO HOURS AND HOURS OF WORK. I am not going to break my back drawing something, show it to someone, and have them brush me off and say “I can make that better with AI”. Hey, buddy, you’re not making ANYTHING. I am the one who put the effort in and you are leeching off artists who put actual effort and soul into their work
