@jackastor5265 How does that make any sense to you whatsoever? We invest money into this so it can serve us. It's a glorified calculator. We don't want to pay someone to do this or that if we can train the AI to do it etc.. obviously that extends to a wide variety of things but just handing over what we consider autonomy is not something that makes any sense. AI is never going to just magically write its own code with no strings etc. It's going to do it the same way it does now.. debugging/optimization and suggestion etc.. This is all in line with the AI actually doing what it's ultimately intended for.
There IS probably some split in the scientific field about it.. but I'd guess the minority are behind this idea that omg AI is about to be a scary entity that just does what it wants etc. Nah that's just the crap you hear about, because the majority consensus in the field doesn't really get the same coverage being that it's boring.
