@jacksonbarkerthebluehairedfoxthey weren't entirely wrong in the 50's. In Canada and the US we aren't all working in factories. Not because our production has gone down but because it's largely automated. I'm originally from Alberta, Canada; the oil sands is a huge industry back there and during 2010-2018 they used to employ a lot more labour. Now a lot of that labour has been automated. It's not like they have stopped producing oil. Unfortunately this means a lot of people are out of work, arguably shitty work but it paid well. Instead they are forced to work other shitty jobs for less money. Overall we have eliminated a lot of shitty dangerous work. We've just created new jobs that suck in different ways.
