@moonshadow1795 Manual labour that was not already automated back in the 80s-90s requires a lot of improvisation and quick thinking. Things that AI struggles with since it is pattern-driven.
It might sound counter-intuitive but being a plumber requires you to be more adaptive and creative than 90% of the art-positions these days. Yes, principle is simple but it's all about these tiny-little details that you can't ignore. Art might look janky as long as it is passable but your sink WILL make you pay for half-assed work.
Another thing is that we lack affordable solutions for human drone/androids. There's already a huge pushback against sex-robots which are literally the easiest and most convenient to make...now add to it a whole lot more complicated design...yeah, worker unions would throw fits, as well as an average investor during the development (for decades, it will be cheaper to just outsource most work to migrants etc. anyways).
