@thewannabecritic7490 Wait a minute. You're claiming to be the trustable source, over the people who are telling us how it's designed? Okay. Copilot says these AI are trained over billions of images, and the software memorizes patterns, to learns how to make new images from scratch. So I would say if they are reading image data, and not copying the images, this is legal. I'll say there is unethical AI, and they would copy the image itself. The government has basically said, "A dragonfly outline is a dragon fly outline." you don't own that, which is true. It says, "You own that dragonfly, but not the 1mm square that is being sampled to teach the AI what dragonfly skin looks like." Which over billions of images, I would say is plenty ethical. I like AI. It's not slop. Most of our work without it, is the epitome of slop. I love what it's doing for my work. It can't get to a Dickens level, but it has added a lot. So I level out at a 50k-250k+ membership. So what, if that is achieved, it's better than the alternative. So I will encourage all artists, no matter their tools. And yes, cut n' paste art is still art. Mosaics are art. People can do what they want. A craft should be studied by hand for a few years first though, so the individual doesn't shoot themselves in the foot.
