I do not believe the process of learning a skill is typically satisfying. That's just an unrealistic romantization. I mean, if someone generated their holiday photos with ChatGPT instead of going on the holiday, everyone would just feel pity for them because going on the actual holiday was the whole point of the thing, not getting the photos. But learning to draw / paint is not like this at all. Otherwise we would not have these obviously super-angry discussions about AI art and instead just feel sad for prompters. Btw, do you even know how awfully boring practicing anatomy is? It is a kind of torture to which filing your taxes is positively interesting and relaxing in comparison. So man, these are all so lowbrow, dishonest, and milquetoast arguments. Philosophically unsound and by people who know neither much about art nor about AI. If there actually is a shortcut, which is a massive, massive IF (and depends on what skill we're talking about), this has gigantic ramifications that are simple unavoidable. It mostly devalues the skill. I don't think some IP lawsuits would change much about this in the long run.
