@defaulted9485 The tool is not unethical, people can use it unethically. That does not mean punishing everyone else for the fact some people misuse a tool. I am strongly against the concept where you "jail 10 innocents along the path to ensuring no murderers go free". Citation and references aren't needed. You can 100% go use free open research in your business. Plenty of youtube channels make money off their ads and base their videos around research papers they dug up. NileRed, NightHawkInLight, and even AvE occasionally has dug up research for this. Other channels likely do it without actually showing where they got the ideas. I don't care what art makes the most money. There are sites where you can find the most ugly furniture possible that sells to rich people. Things like doorknobs shaped like realistic wasp's nests and other unsettling things. They sell for more money than some people make in a year. The other money points you made don't really seem to be anything else besides "some people suck" lol. OF COURSE some people suck. But in general it's not really a problem. Heck Sakimichan makes anywhere from 480k to possibly over a million dollars a year off her art. And it's some of the most bland lowest-common-denominator stuff. But I respect her business acumen, consistency and drive for getting there. Very much worth emulating in some elements other than her actual art. People could always photoshop your face into NSFW images. There's a whole genre of "morph art" where people do that, the fact that it was hard to do in videos before isn't really important. Yea I don't know what to tell you about the crummy coastal creative business culture. The entertainment industry has ALWAYS been trying to screw over the naiive young artists who are willing to do anything to live their "dream." AI doesn't really impact that at all. I don't really know the main point of your post. Most of it seems like general venting at the state of the art world. But things really aren't universally bad.
