The only thing you could "have learned" about this issue is that it cant be done. A strong AI isnt concerned with anyone elses problems, it just solves its owns and thats all the ethics it will accept/develope. As it is intelligent by definition, it will not be concerned in the least with f*cked up human ethics. The only way an AI will develope further ethics is to make it feel as the next step towards artificial life.
