Any potential "savings" are debatable.
First of all, AI is not cheap to install and maintain; not to mention any potential law-suits.
Second, for this century at least, they would still need a driver in the cab. So, companies would still need to pay a driver as well as the cost of AI.
Last but not least, in the UK at least, truck drivers, whether semis or smaller, are not paid mega money as it is so all in all factored in, any transport manager in their right mind will stick with human drivers, for the duration of this century anyway.
