@TrippaC_666 I'll start by apologizing for making this reply so long, this is a subject I've been considering a lot as a programmer. It's not really a problem that regular people are using ai instead of commissioning people. Frankly those people are never going to pay for art at any point, because they don't value it. Not a swipe at them, just an observation. The fact is that a corporation has stolen artist's work, and then profited off of it. The problem is the big picture. And as far as artists being jealous, believe me, they're not. Consider, if you're a musical artist and a corporation stole your albums and basically resold it to some unsuspecting bystanders, would you be chill about it? Would you be jealous? No, you'd be angry that someone stole your work to farm free money for themselves. Now imagine they stole your music specifically to train an ai on it, so that they can actively replace you. We got a peak into that with all the Hollywood and game industry layoffs. See the evil part? The musician isn't upset because the ai is singing better than them, and in fact they can explain to you exactly why everything about it is inferior to you. How the lyrics make no sense, how it makes it sounds like an alien pretending to be a human musician. I'm belaboring the point because I want to make it clear that artists are not being unreasonable, nor are they being entitled. They're angry at being exploited, and like I said earlier, if corporations get away with it, we're next. I won't make this longer by pointing out the insanely irresponsible use of energy by ai while we're looking down the barrel of a climate disaster, but it is another consideration if we step away from just the ethics.
