It's not about losing faith but discarding ego. In order for humanity to expand it's capacities beyond the peaks we've already established, we must embrace the fact we may need to create tools beyond our own capabilities as we already have with heavy machinery, agriculture and construction. In the end the problem is income displacement and corporate abuse, not the tools themselves. If all art was open source, nobody would have a problem outside of ensuring credit is given - but every artist wants their art to be a walled garden, because copycats mean reduced market share mean reduced income means art becomes a hobby not a livelihood. We'll see a similar curve for the unfun jobs, it just turns out they're harder to automate than a lot of the fun stuff. Unless something drastic happens, time will remove them as a career path too. I think we might genuinely be in a transition phase to a work optional society - whether that's a good thing, depends on how people react, how options are presented for fulfilment, and how much people continue to lean in on acquisition as the end goal. Honestly, less than entirely optimistic on the latter point.
