@NAERSITA There is this notion, utterly and completely false of course, but people keep tossing the word around casually as if it's possible. And, I don't know if it's ignorance, or too much sci-fi and fantasy they've been watching, but they keep saying that Ai, Machine Learning, mathematical algorithms, parameters and datasets will suddenly and out of nowhere "become" sentient. It's a ridiculous notion to be sure, so far-fetched and absurd as to be totally impossible, but they keep saying it.
Look, Ai will no more become sentient than your fork will suddenly stand up and start dancing on its tines. And why is that? Because Ai is code. It is not alive and it never will be. Period. It is simply predicting words. That's all. Stop anthropomorphizing algorithms. This weird evolutionary need that our species has to form connections makes use desire life to be inside everything, but it's not. Your computer is not a living thing. And it will never become a living thing. So, please, stop.
