@spacesciencelab So then, what if you were born blind, and only your eyes were mechanical? Are you devoid of experiences? Or how about people who have a neural implant connected to their brain, e.g. due to disability? What if 10% of your brain were replaced? Or 20%? 50%?
Frankly, I don't buy into the notion that possessing consciousness is a binary. I think all autonomous beings, living or otherwise, can be described as having some level of consciousness or self awareness. But per my line of questioning, I'm curious when you think a human that is partially non-biological crosses the boundary from having experience to not.
