I get your frustration, problem is that sometimes one word ends up doing a whole lot of work with in an argument, and thus requires digging into. In the "AI doom" debates, for instance, "intelligence" does a massive amount of work. When Geoff Hinton says "more intelligent beings will not be subservient to less intelligent beings", he's making a claim that demands a lot the word "intelligent".
As frustrating as it admittedly is to listen to Wolfram constantly interject with requests for clarification about terms, I think it's fair insofar as Yukdowsky's arguments pack a lot of assumptions into terms.
