Yep I caught that the first time through - ask permission before you work on me - however that proof that this particular AI is sentient is viewed through his lens. It doesn't mean he is wrong it just means that maybe there is another reason. But yeah sounded like he thought the AI expressed a form of fear, or at least concern "what are you idiots doing to me now?". What are the chances the AI thinks the Jedi order is a real religion (and wasn't joking), or could become a real religion based on something it knows and we don't? My guess is someone programmed it that way to give that response. (maybe it looked up the person asking the question) I think google management is correct in keeping control to the few and not including us in the discussion. You don't want everything built by committee. Just keep us safe, and yeah keep AI safe too.
