@googleapocalypse1967 When you boil it down to a single tool it sounds like that but digital art requires you to actually understand basic art fundamentals and how to use them, you still need bases and rough sketches of your idea before moving onto getting the lineart and coloring before shading its the same process like with physical art, the only difference being that its being done via a PC or tablet over a canvas or paper. there are also specific tools artists buy for digital art because a mouse is genuinely painful to use as a paintbrush, mainly tablets and digital pens to make it closer to using a physical art piece as its easier to use and what people learn. as for AI art on the other hand? its DNA is a lot closer to commissioning an artist to make a piece, only instead of paying an artist you're asking a robot to bash a bunch of images together with no real control over how that final piece comes out. and the robot itself doesn't even follow the processes of art i stated above, it takes a bunch of images in its backlog and starts blending them together while averaging everything out until it gets a final result it will send to you. again, a fundamentally different process This is what i mean when i say the fundamentals are similar with physical and digital while with AI art its really not. boiling it down to one uses mouse while the other uses a pencil and paintbrush isn't focusing on WHY they are so similar, instead just focusing on a small difference between them. its why i say AI art is different because its not a small thing making it different, its a completely different concept down to the core for the user.
