@paksappie Adapting sounds like a very weak mindset, good only for those who seek short-term comfort by following everyone else around them. Like, drop doing things your way and instead just adapt to what the masses are doing, thinking and supporting? No thanks. I'd rather die being me than ending up as another conformist loser. This applies especially to artists. And I think about all my idols. Like Quentin Tarantino who still makes movies the old way. Like Greg Capullo who still draws his comic pages with pencil. Like Keving Smith who just does his own thing even if everyone around thinks his current movies are s**t. Same with Rob Zombie. Not to mention all the bands that still use actual instruments. Do you think any of those would be so iconic and generate a cult following if somewhere along the way they adapted to doing what was considered the norm of their time? Seriously, telling illustrators to use AI is like telling a metal band to just adapt to pop music and autotune. And I don't think any artist ever made a long lasting career by adapting to what's popular and what's considered industry standards. With the exceptions, of course, by constantly reinventing themselves and re-adapting to the latest trend and basically end up as the public's puppet. So yeah adapt my a**. It's a way of the weak ones and those who lack self-confidence in themselves, plus only works in short them because in 2-3 years, there's gonna be something else you'll have to adapt to to stay relevant. TL;DR version - This idea of adapting sounds weak and just plain dumb and you have to be naive to believe it's gonna get you anywhere in the long run (You might have a nice short run though, I'll give you that, so in some way I get the appeal). The greatest artists were always rebels in some kind and conformism was about the last thing any of them seeked. But if you wanna go this route, feel free. I wish you all the best.
