@lepidoptera9337 I never said that it could. The point I was making was that AI doesn't have to be sentient to be a cause for concern. In fact a super intelligent system that just simulates sentience to the extent that it can fool people to think that it is could be more like an artificially created psychopath.
If we're just trusting companies like Google etc to do the right thing with AI out of the public eye then we're pretty much asking for trouble.
