i think it is for exercising your brain, but only if you really enjoy it. I think many things are about to change so anything that you "force" yourself to do now might not even be relevant soon. I say this because if you have to force or stress yourself to do it, then you are trading health and peace for something that is a gamble.
What always will be beneficial is having critical thinking skills, knowing how to learn, have social skills and being fit/healthy. You want to be more of a generalist because AI is good at specializing, you want to be able to be flexible and quick in your thinking. Anything that you like to do that fits one of these goals (or all of them), is worth it
