Personally I wouldn't agree with using ai for references, not just because of the environmental harm but also ai doesn't know what real people look like, it just mashes images together to make something that is kinda human. I'd recommend trying photo bashing or having multiple references. Maybe look up models or actors with similar traits you'd like for your character. That's just my opinion though.
