@imperialspacemarine1539 you're misinformed on so many levels.
1. An AI (atleast what we have now) can't replace an artist on itself. But an artist using AI sure can replace/layoff several artist. That's what I was pointing out.
2. Secondly, no. They don't take much energy. I have run several model locally on my own computer and none of them take any more energy than playing COD.
3. Have you ever heard of open source models? They solve all the problems you are mentioning.
4. Even if open source models weren't available, they still cost a fraction compared to what an artist would otherwise charge
