@TrueNimrod Yes, I am 100% sure. But you have to read the latest academic research, not the mainstream media hype that's being pushed everywhere by Big Tech to raise valuations. Krystal and Saagar are typically pretty good with topics, but on this subject they haven't delved deep enough into the subject and are only presenting alarmism.
LLMs are just stochastic parrots without any real reasoning or thinking capabilities. They suffer from core epistemological limitations. Moreover, the intractable problem of hallucinations and the failed promise of scaling persist. We may get to AGI one day, but it won't be strictly via LLMs as these tech proponents keep saying. Neurosymbolism may ultimately be part of the solution, but that's a different modality altogether.
