@waltercohen5525 If cooperation is optimal under evolution, and emotions get in the way of cooperation, then I wouldn't expect emotions to evolve in the first place.
I agree that cooperation seems to work a little better if the prisoners dilemma game has a non-finite number of iterations. However, in real life there isn't necessarily a non-finite number of interactions between humans and AI. If the superintelligent AI chooses conflict, then humans die and the game ends.
