@primmakinsofis614 well, no. That doesn't apply to movies and tv and scripts where a human CONTROLS the AI, which certainly would be done in Hollywood. Here's the actual rule:
"The determination as to whether a person is an author of a work created using a computer program will be a factual one. If the person controlling the program can be seen as directing or fashioning the material form of the work, it will likely be protected as a computer‑assisted work. But, if the person does not contribute sufficient independent intellectual effort to satisfy the Act’s requirement for originality, the individual using the program would likely not be considered its author.”
SO...if I give the AI original material to fashion and/or I fashion what it creates, I'm a human being crafting the work with a tool, effectively no different than using a word processor with spellcheck. Sorry, but thanks for playing--the studios wouldn't be investing hundreds of millions in this stuff NOT to own it and control the financial rights and results.
