One issue that almost everyone overlooks: AI-generated works in the U.S. cannot be copyrighted. This was recently reaffirmed in the federal court ruling in the Thaler v. Permlmutter case.
No copyright protection means no exclusive ability to profit from that creation. Without that protection, anyone can take a work created by AI and distribute it, edit it, copy it, or even sell it, all without penalty. AI-created works are effectively in the public domain, free for anyone to use.
