there are companies (Anthropic and Mistral) concerned with the downsides, a major one being misaligned AGI/ASI killing everyone in its path to gaining absolute knowledge and power. Careless acceleration is what ClosedAI and xAI want. Google is in a middleground, because it does have ethics mechanisms intentionally slowing down AI growth to produce more aligned models, as pointed out by ex-engineers at the company.
