Actually the other car in the video you are mentioning used both lidar and radar, the lidar using lasers instead of radio waves like radar. Waymo uses cameras, lidar and radar. Musk and his obsession with just relying on cameras should be a no go and the Federal government should require at least cameras and one other system, lidar or radar, at the minimum.
