What is your argument here? The invention of machinery for factories during the industrial revolution only took away back-breaking jobs, which pretty much required people to work in a factory under poor health conditions for hundreds of hours a week, doing dangerous jobs with undeveloped machines that could cost them their lives. Automation is awesome for those kinds of jobs, as well as stuff like the construction industry; architects didn't lose their jobs, they're still able to produce their creative vision. The problem with AI """art""" is that art is inherently human; it requires years to develop the skills necessary to produce art, with things like inspiration coming from a mix between your own creativity, your life experiences, and the media you've consumed over the years. Writing a prompt does not require you to have any of the skills an artist does. I can't possibly fathom how someone could spend "dozens of hours" perfecting a prompt, and call that a time well spent. Artists do not want to work writing a few lines of text and feeding it into a mindless program. They want to be out there creating art, going through the years of learning that allows them to be able to produce something meaningful. Yes, people are afraid, because it's ridiculous to try to automate something that no one asked to be automated, except for the people who want a quick and easy way to feel like they're able to come up with something visually appealing, without having to go through all the learning. AI works will not go away, but a future in which art, the pinnacle of human expression, is completely automated and dominated by a soulless computer, sounds rather dystopian to me.
