@glenndabaker2608Make America safe would be more important. FYI, everything doesn't have to turn into a political "your team sucks" conversation. Waymo being on the road has absolutely nothing to do with politics.
Yeah, it's great thst the cops pull it over but they don't issue any fines. Are the cops just expected to be free on location technical support for a for profit company?? At the very least, the cops should bill Waymo for their time. That being said, they shouldn't even be on the road if they are consistently getting pulled over and obviously don't know how to adapt to construction zones and emergencies. You can talk all you want about how great it is until you're stuck behind one while in the back of an ambulance or get hit by one that's making erratic adjustments to swerving into oncoming traffic. If that or anything similar happens to you, I guarantee you'd be thr first one to start crying about how not fair it is and how you went through some bullsht trauma caused by a self driving car.
Everything is all good until it happens to you and then you'll act like it's the end of the world. Zero empathy or care for anyone but your entitled self. Not having self driving cars causing traffic backups is about as fat from being stuck in the dark ages as you can get. Technology will continue to advance no problem without driverless cars being a liability.
At least one person has died and several others hsve been seriously injured in Waymos. Although it may not have been a direct fault of the Waymo, I guarantee a human driver would've been able to make the split second adjustment needed to avoid a serious accident much better than a car with sensors. As fast as they might be able to react, they still don't have intuition and common sense that is an important part of operating a motor vehicle.
Heck, one drove through a whole police standoff with a dangerous individual while a person was in the car and they're also driven straight through crime scenes and accidents without stopping. You know it's illegal to just drive through an accident without reporting it, especially if no one else is around to do so. Worst part is that even if it did stop and someone needed help, you'd be locked inside of it unable to do anything. Put yourself in that position and honestly tell me you'd be just fine with driving pass someone yelling for help or driving straight toward an active shooter. They are computers that are programmed to repeat the same task every time.
They are not equipped with any mental capacity to make decisions on their own which has and will continue to put people in dangerous positions. Oh but we can sacrifice those people cuz we don't want to be stuck in the dark ages. Lnfao! The dark ages, by the way, signifies a period of perceived cultural stagnation, insecurity, and scarcity of written records. I think we are free to say that we will never be stuck in the dark ages. Try again with even more egregious exaggeration because that one might not have been dramatic enough.
I'm all for autonomous vehicles being a part of our near future but they've proven ovet and over again that we just aren't there yet. Same goes for self driving Teslas even though there is a driver in them, they aren't fully capable of driving themselves better than a decent and logical human being is. Teslas have hurt and killed even more people than Waymo has. 1 life lost is too many. There's no convincing me otherwise.
And for the record, no I am not MAGA. I'm far from it but I'm also far from anything liberals represent as well. I prefer to think on my own and formulate my opinions rather than let any party lines make decisions for me because nothing good comes from sticking to party lines. Both sides are full of greedy selfish people who want nothing but to improve their status and fatten their pockets and they make decisions knowingly harming US citizens to do so. They want our country to be at odds with each other so they can continue cheating the system for their own good. It scares me how many people willingly fall for such puppeteering without asking any questions. They can't even hold their own pary leaders accountable for anything but they'll scream until they're blue in the face for the other party to be held accountable. Its absurd. We continue to ignore the mistakes we've made and repeat them in a vicious cycle where the rich get richer and anyone who can't afford to survive is just forced to die.
There's nothing okay about any of that and applauding Wayno for wasting police resources by relying on them to fix bugs in their system is ridiculous and unacceptable. Period.
