i know this is beside the point but as some who has read "i, robot" it IS about the robot that chooses not to kill the human. like it is an entire book of short stories abt problems that could happen with artificially intelligent robots that AREN'T a robot uprising. apologies for my pedantry, otherwise i think i agree with a lot of your comment lol
