This is true. People who make these claims have no real world experience of how complicated infrastructure is in companies. AI, and that's just continuing a trend that started, what in the 1960's?, can reduce the number of employees companies need, so ten programmers might do the work of 20 today, and other institutions can employ fewer staff, but "take every job" is clear nonsense. What will probably happen is what happened when home computers came along, and then the Internet - new opportunities emerge, new businesses, and products that previously didn't exist.
