@bossrabbit I don't think most of what happened in the job market is due to AI. Companies were bloated and over hiring for a long time, section 174 tax changes, the economy was showing signs of recession, etc. At least at the big companies, they are just committed to being leaner and focusing only on a few big bets (like AI). Of course there likely is some amount of productivity gains from the use of LLMs in development and that does help when running companies with 20-30% less people. I also think in a couple years we'll start to see hiring pick up again. There's already signs now. I'm seeing more internships posted again which lead to new grad hires down the line.
