@olivercharles2930 AI art is literal communism. Making art is not some human right, it's a hard-earned skill and possession. Artists are feeling like those farmers, when Josif Stalin confiscated their farmlands by force in Soviet Union. And you people are saying that farmers should "stop crying about your stolen lands". This is not democratization of art, it's collectivization of art. It's literal communism. You steal someone's hard-earned property (artists skillset, lifework, and personal style) and make it "public property", that's 100% communism. Funny how many Americans suddenly furiously SUPPORT COMMUNISM, when it enables THEM to make pretty pictures in Midjourney...... History has shown how unhealthy communism is to societies... in this case the art community. Protection of possession is one of the most important laws of a healthy, succesful civilization. That's the first law you have to get right. Because if there is no protection of possession, nobody wants to work hard, because you can't trust the state not to come and steal what you achieved. As a result, you get a society of half-assed laziness such as Soviet Union. That's literally what was done to artists here, their possession is stolen illegally by Stalin (= Midjourney, Stable Diffusion in this case), and redistributed to "people of Soviet Union" (= everyone else, people like you). Now you're literally telling telling how it's a "great thing" that their stolen farmlands are more "accessible" to everyone. "Everyone should have farmlands, not just you". You are now justifying communism by saying "but disabled people should have farmlands too, or people who struggle" or whatever. No. Communist societies rot from the inside, as history has shown. Art community will die because people will become unwilling to work on their skills. Because they have seen that their possession was not protected by anyone. Not by the state, not by law. It's weird how United States lawmakers are so slow to react to this. It's literal communism, practiced right in front of their eyes.
