Why would an LLM be better at writing scripts to hack into computer systems than humans? LLMs just learn information that humans already know.
Second scenario: why would an LLM be better at using genetic algorithms to invent new architectures than human researchers? Same argument as in the previous case, LLMs only know what we know.
I'm with Melanie on this. LLM's are very obviously not in any way an "existential threat". As for "superintelligence" someone needs to explain what that even means without circular reasoning - saying that it means "far smarter than humans" is just substituting the word smart for intelligent and gets us nowhere.
