Completely agree. I use AI right now in my hobbies and lightly in my legal work. I don't see any way it's going to replace people. It's lacking in the ways you note and you can't copyright works created wholly by AI (partially created is a more complicated subject).
I don't have any moral qualms with utilizing AI in art. It's perfectly legal and commonplace for another lawyer to copy a contract I made using my knowledge and style, slightly change it, then use it for commercial purposes. This is acceptable morally in large part because those were the rules current lawyers grew up with. It'll be the same for future generations of artists.
Historically there were commonly "moral" backlashes to new technologies that transformed industries. Industrialization and mass production effectively destroyed numerous specialized trades. The lessons to be learned from that past isn't to avoid utilizing new technologies--it's to promote legislation that ensures that the benefits are equitably distributed and people have safety rails during the transition.
