@Jess Stuart The same technology is used in animation and AR. Deepfakes is only one of its applications.
So the technology cannot be outlawed. But the act of using the technology to misled and manipulate may be outlawed.
It's the same as firing a gun is legal but shooting someone with a gun is illegal.
