not even close, you said it yourself "There are hundreds of techniques that involve "randomness" in some sort." those are techniques, tools in a case for an artist to use. These people are making calculated moves and risks with physical art pieces. Ai art work has no effort or soul in it past writing a prompt.
you really cant compare an art piece that can take hours and hours of work and effort to a computer generated image that does 99% of the work in like 5 seconds. there are no sketches, there is no vision, there is only bits and pieces of OTHER peoples work that the ai has stole and frankensteined together from other artists who actually put work into it
