Thanks for sharing your experience! There's no market incentive for the creators of current chat-based LLMs to design interfaces that encourage healthy usage. That's because they only care about engagement metrics so they can convince venture capitalists to invest further into their business.
Intentionally not using the tool is a great first step! Like with social media, the benefits can sometimes seem larger when we use the system than we get off it.
