it's not far fetched. When you combine everything that came before. Self aware AI with deep understanding of how to utilize astrophysics and quantum mechanics to advantage it will be able to perform tasks that seem like magic.
Imagine if a caveman had this AI. He would just say I need a device where I can watch what other people are doing from a distance. The thing would design a telescope or a television.
That's situation we are coming up on pretty soon.
