@Turtledove2009 That is because for thousands of years, man has been brutal, violent and ignorant, and he has built a society on competition, greed and selfishness. For the first time through technological advancement and the freedom of knowledge, we have the possibility to change that. Perhaps some band aids are necessary, but we need to recognize that laws are just that, band aids.
There is a perfect analogy for our sickness, which is beyond just Deepfakes, and it is this: We're like an obese person and we are trying to get healthy, and what we do is put ourselves through more and more excruciating exercises in the hopes we will lose weight, but when we go home, we eat nothing but the most unhealthy foods--oils, candy and sugar.
Maybe it is time to eat healthy--to give peace a chance, and it starts with realizing the root of our illness.
