The idea is what they’re selling. Half of the hype around AI is around selling the idea that it’s the technology of the future because AI companies want money. The companies running these generators stand to gain the most from a hypothetical AI boom. It’s pretty much your standard Silicon Valley grift that’ll dry up in a few years’ time outside of a few sparse use cases.
