@lolalalia4119 non technical tldr - AI is lot like a lossy video compression algorithm or jpeging a picture, rather than autocomplete if you look at the scaling of big models.
I'm saying that emergent behavior is a real thing. Saying algorithms cannot be intelligent is like saying chemistry (like the neurons in your brain) cannot be intelligent. It makes no sense. Algorithms are a building block and intelligence is subjective. Just like neurotransmitters and dna.
The whole point of deep learning is that when you're compressing so much data so very hard, you can no longer get away with just recognizing patterns, and intelligence arises naturally.
