Laws will help rein this in, for example, making companies liable for any accident that occurs due to AI usage. Making it a crime to have AI solely in use for any instance where a human life could be harmed by the choice it makes. That will massively restrict the kind of mass replacement you are talking about. I saw someone mention cashiers in another comment and while there has been a marginal replacement of cashiers for self service, you always have an actual person in charge of the self service machines because they are fallible. He’s right not to overreact, we should push for restrictions at the government level but not panic until we see some of the effects later on. And as always, we should be looking for political candidates that promote socialist policies such as universal income to plan for a fully automated future.
