@charlestwoohe proposes the AI scientist. IMHO there is no solution. Deep Learning, Transformers, and other AI techniques are a general purpose technology. You can apply however way you choose, and there’s no stopping anyone from making a god, a devil, or a chatbot out of it. There is no such thing as solving the alignment problem. It’s like a baby trying to align an adult, or rather a fish or a tree trying to align a human. It’s not gonna happen.
