Example in 2000 ERP was very popular. Total automated data integration of the entire company. Two well known California companies entered into such an agreement. It was for a manufacturing company who wanted ERP. So they signed a very expensive agreement with the software company only to discovered the Software Company did not know anything about MANUFACTURING! They had to be taught.
