@coprographiaWhats worse is they think they are. It happened for a couple years in Florida. They had some "cutting edge" ai program that allowed them to do "predictive policing" or something like that phrasing.
The program would label people, mainly juveniles, and then push police to give them tickets for anything. Long grass in yard, ticket, lights not on at night, ticket, not touching up the paint of the house, ticket. It truly was a way to harass people until they moved away, thus preventing the crime, there is no evidence for, that could have happened
I agree they aren't keeping some sort of high end collection of sci-fi tech, but they still try and fail with what they have.
