You have to understand, most people are dumb in ways that lead to self sabotage. They don't have the drive, intellect, and/or passion to learn enough about the world around them to avoid screw-ups like this, and then the really dangerous thing happens. Because they're in a world they don't understand, they get scared due to the lack of control they feel, and end up filling in the gaps themselves to cope. It simultaneously increases intelligent and in control they feel.
That used to be bad enough but now people are letting AI do that part for them too. I'm so disappointed in people that I'm no longer surprised by it, and that makes me even more disappointed.
