First, stop pushing that Bering Strait/Siberia bridge bullcrap. That theory was designed by Western academics to make us "immigrants" just like everyone else, to justify the theft of our lands. To reduce our history to a single migration from Siberia is a form of erasure. We are Eurasian—our ancestors carry ancient North Eurasian bloodlines from the Eurasian Steppe. This same ancestral pool populated both Northern Europe and the Americas. By calling us "Siberians" or "Asians," you're using colonizer geography to try and define indigenous identity. Our DNA is unique to us and this land; we aren’t just a "subset" of a different continent. My people—the Mohawk, the Onkwehón:we—have been on this land since time immemorial. Our creation stories don’t start on a land bridge in Russia; they start right here on Turtle Island. Our ancestors' bones are in this soil. We didn’t "cross over" 15,000 years ago like tourists; this land made us who we are. If you are Native, you should know better than to use the colonizer’s own "scientific" fairytales to argue who belongs here. Whether you’re arguing against the "Black native" fantasy or not, don’t use the white man’s lies to do it. You’re doing the work of the colonizer for them. We are the original people of this land, and we don't need a "bridge" theory to prove it.
